Harry O-Distinguished Broadcaster

Hello, and welcome to TheGreenHour.com.

To make a long story short we started the program on KITS-FM in San Francisco in 1990. We've been in production on a regular basis until taking a break for the past year or so.

Most recently we were heard on KYOU Radio in SF. We are back and better-than-ever with ground-breaking, (mostly) non-judgmental  programming on conservation and the environment. >>more

Football season is coming and if you were wondering (or even if you weren't) about the carbon footprint of a college football game.  Click here for a revealing look at the environmental impact of our real National Sport.  I am not a partisan of Michigan State but I thank the Spartans for their contribution to the Green Hour.

Our current segments are found on the Home Page and include such diverse offerings as a discussion about our precious resource water with Rita Schmidt Sudman  of the Water Education Foundation, an interview with Les Brown of the Earth Policy Institute on his latest book, Plan B 3.0, an interview with Will Allen, farmer and author of The War On Bugs, a history of pesticide use, a first-in-the-nation campaign to fight ground level ozone in Dallas-Fort Worth, a feature on the "Hands-Free Cell Phone" law in California with some interesting comments from the Governor.  We also keep it "green" as in money, by talking about the current real estate market with the CEO of Century 21.  We also feature the founder of the conservation project Drive 55, Tim Castleman.

Earth Witness News in every edition has some valuable nuggets of information, although a mining metaphor here might be inapprpriate.
